Cardiff Restaurants

Madeira Restaurante: 2 Guildford Cres, Cardiff. tel. 029-2066-7705 (map).  This is a restaurant just off Churchill Way.  From the outside it looks small, but it seats up to 90.  The menu is Portuguese with a huge range.  The food is excellent and the staff really try to make an effort. Thoroughly recommended for a meal out in the capital. Try the huge kebabs for something different.  About £20 per head.  Advised to book ahead, especially Thursday to Saturday.

Diner 77: Pontcanna, Cardiff 77 Pontcanna St., Cardiff, CF11 9HS. tel. 029-2034-4628 (map).  Its a real cosy, friendly American diner.  A good menu ranging from traditional American burgers to vegetarian options.  Very popular with local Cardiff people.  Recently refurbished.  About £10 per head.  Advised to book ahead, especially Thursday to Saturday.

Coffee Mania is a coffee bar in Cardiff Bay and is currently our favourite lunchtime spot. It’s conveniently located right next to the Bay with an excellent view. They serve sandwiches, paninis and a small selection of other hot food. As their name suggestions their speciality is coffee. Coffee, whichever way you want it! We love the friendly staff, and the excellent views out from the high seats where you can watch the world go by. You can also sit outside when the weather is good enough. Can be a little busy during the lunchtime rush in the summer. About £6 per head for lunch including drinks.
